This talk is for entrepreneurs wanting to believe every success they can imagine is possible. I share the intimate details of my entrepreneurial roller coaster ride. I was fired in January 2004. I raised some money and bought a business in an industry I knew absolutely nothing about. Started up a second company in the same industry, at the same time. It got pretty rough going, pretty fast. The businesses were losing money, every year... accumulating more than $750,000 in operational losses at one point. By the end of year 3, our primary business loan had gone into default. And then my wife of nearly twenty-four years fired me too. Another 7 years later, we sold out for $42.5 million (against my wishes), I walked away from my deep dive in the international trade industry (which I had learned a lot about) and started another company in an industry I knew absolutely nothing about. The style or vibe of my talk is intimate; I simply share my story—the good, the bad, and the ugly!
